Yoshiki Tokura has started his academic endeavors with MD in 1982 at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine and completed PhD. In 1989, he became visiting Researcher at Yale University. During 2002-2010, he occupied Professor and Chair, University of Occupational and Environmental Health. From 2011, he came back to Hamamatsu University as Professor and Chair. He resigned from the university as Professor Emeritus in 2021 and was appointed to be the Director, Allergic Disease Research Center, and the Director, Department of Dermatology & Skin Oncology, Chutoen General Medical Center in Kakegawa, Japan. Apart from his routines, he adorned various societal postings such as President for the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID) 2008-2011, President for the Japanese Society for Cutaneous Immunology and Allergy (JSCIA) 2017-2019, and Vice President for the Japanese Dermatological Association (JDA) 2018-2020. He served as Secretary-General in International Investigative Dermatology (IID) 2008 in Kyoto. He scaled greater heights in exhibiting his talents in Media as Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Dermatological Science (JDS) (2013-2018), Editor-in-Chief for The Journal of Dermatology (JD) (2011-2013), and Editor-in-Chief for The Journal of Cutaneous Immunology and Allergology (JCIA) (2018-2020). His areas of interest have been centering mostly around Immunology/Allergology, Cutaneous lymphomas, and Photobiology.
