Hans I-Chen Harn, Ph.D.
USA
Research Associate, University of Southern California
Dr. Hans is an experienced researcher in skin wound generation and tissue mechanics in development and regeneration. He received his PhD in 2015 with a thesis that centered around the mechanobiology of the cell, and began his postdoc work at the International Center for Wound Repair and Regeneration (iWRR) at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. He was introduced to hair follicle stem cell research under the guidance of Cheng-Ming Chuong as a post-doctoral fellow, where he began to integrate his expertise in tissue mechanics with skin biology to carry out novel research in regenerative wound healing and skin development. Since then, he has been an active attendee and organizing member of a few research societies (Society of Investigative Dermatology, American Society for Cell Biology (session co-chair), Wound Healing Society), established new collaborations with laboratories in and outside of University of Southern California and internationally to expand his knowledge and research, and published a few important papers and review articles that are well received at international conferences (Harn et al., Nat Comm 2021) and top-cited in the journal’s annual citation counts (Harn et al., Experimental Derm 2019). He is also involved in a few RO1s and most recently an RM1 grant writing, and has been the recipient of funding and fellowship awards.
