Kenji Kabashima is Japanese board certified in Dermatology and Allergology and became Professor and Head of the Department of Dermatology in Kyoto University in 2015. His research focus is the pathogenesis of inflammatory skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis), 3D visualization of skin using two-photon microscopy, and drug development.
Prof. Kenji Kabashima has published more than 700 original peer-reviewed papers and is a member of the editorial board of several well-established journals (JACI, J Invest Dermatol, Br J Dermatol, JEADV etc). He is currently the President of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology and Local President of the International Investigative Dermatology 2023 in Tokyo. Prof. Kabashima is a board member of the International League of Dermatological Societies, the International Society for Atopic Dermatitis (ISAD), and the International Eczema Council (IEC).
His hobbies include marathon running (2:54:38), trail running (Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc 170 km), mountain climbing, traveling, and golf.
