It is my great honor and tremendous pleasure to welcome you to Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s Maritime Capital, for the conjoint conference of the 45th Annual Meeting of Taiwanese Dermatological Associations (TDA) and the 14th Annual Meeting of Taiwanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (TSID).
Changes in climate, threats to our environment, and constant variation in pathogens, pose great challenges to the preservation of human health. Our immune system protects us from these challenges and environmental threats. It also regulates the development of autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, drug reactions, and tumor immunity. The skin is the body’s largest organ and it acts as a barrier to environmental insults maintaining homeostasis and human health. A better understanding the various immunological niches can help improve the prevention and treatment of skin diseases. This conference aims to facilitate the sharing of Science and Immunology and translate this knowledge into better skin care and health care integrating recent advances in immune-based treatments, skin surgery, and state-of-the-art aesthetic medicine.
World leading experts in skin immunology and skin health from USA, Japan, China, Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Croatia, Belarus, and so on are converging at this conference to discuss innate and adaptive immunity and their delicate mechanical regulation along with their translational significance. In addition, the history and development of dermatology as a field in Taiwan will be reviewed and the current and future uses of artificial intelligence and telemedicine will be discussed. The conference is certain to provide an excellent opportunity for the sharing of knowledge in our respective fields and the exchange cutting-edge medical interventions.
After conference sessions, you are invited to spend several days visiting southern Taiwan. You can enjoy Kaohsiung City, its famous night markets and Kaohsiung Harbor as well as learn about the diverse ethnic groups found on Taiwan from Hoklo and Hakka to the indigenous Pingpu, Rukai, Bunun, Tsou, and Paiwan. Taste the freshest and tastiest seafood in the world. You can also visit Fo Guang Mountain Buddhist Monastery and shop at Taiwan’s largest outlet mall.
We plan to offer you a very rich and immediately useful scientific and clinical medicine conference followed by a great time and enchanting memories of Kaohsiung. Welcome.
